Throughout each summer orientation session, you will meet with other students in your major and with faculty members and advisors about your programs of study, degree requirements, and you will receive your fall class schedule. In addition, you will learn about student services, explore ways to get involved with groups and events on campus, be introduced to academic policies and support mechanisms, meet upper class student orientation leaders, and make new friends!
Transfer students may attend a spring-summer Orientation day OR they may attend an optional Transfer Day rather than Orientation. Transfer Days are administered by the ESU Transfer Center, Zimbar-Liljenstein Hall, 570-422-2800. To register for a Transfer Day, visit www.esu.edu/transferday.
Parents are strongly encouraged, however not mandated, to participate in orientation. We have heard from past parent orientation participants that our information on how to parent a university student has been a useful resource!
We encourage you to register for and attend the earliest session possible! It will ease your mind knowing that everything is in order and that you are fully prepared to begin your journey at ESU. The earlier you respond to our invitation, the more likely it is that you will receive your desired date.
Be sure to continue to check your ‘MyESU Portal’ for important ESU information. More orientation information may be found at: esu.edu/orientation/.
We look forward to meeting you! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact: ESU Orientation & New Student Programs, (570) 422-2862.
ESU International Student Orientation will be held separately from the orientation sessions and Transfer Days mentioned above. International students may contact: Mr. Steven Ives, International Program Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org, (570) 422-3527, for more information.
